Due to multiple requests related to the suspension of flights to Russia

Due to multiple requests related to the suspension of flights to Russia, we would like to remind that restrictions for entering the Russian Federation have been lifted for British cizitens and foreign residents in the UK with a document proof, only provided that they travel to Russia by direct flight from the UK. Flying with transit via another country (airports of Amsterdam, Istanbul or else) is not allowed, unless the person is subject to Government exceptions.

We fully understand the frustration regarding the ruined Christmas travel plans to Russia, but the situation with COVID-19 is really serious. In order to avoid misunderstanding and unpleasant surprise we strongly disadvise any transit flights from the UK to Russia without prior consulting with the respective airlines and foreign embassy of the respective country in London. Every country has its own rules of entry and transit. There may be also special regulations in the airline flying to Russia.
